Mounted Games Team Selection

All children must ride for their own age group and attend training within that age group. Members MUST be available key competitions (Areas, Zones, Championships). Junior children may be considered to ride up as a senior if they follow the rules and criteria above, including riding on the junior team. Riding up is not a given and is at the discretion of the training team and only if they think that that child is capable and safe to do so.  Any child fulfilling the above criteria is entitled to attend senior training but must attend some junior training as well. Games training, like all other training sessions, will need to be booked via Horse Events.

Any senior member who is serving a 14-month ban, due to transferring from another branch, is welcome to attend training. They may compete in Pairs competitions and at Team Friendly competitions if selected to do so.

All children will be treated as having an equal chance of selection on to teams, provided they have followed the criteria for attendance at training and availability for key competitions. Places will be allocated on ability, attendance at competitions as well as training throughout the year, positive attitude, a willingness to listen and try to do as asked and good team spirit.

Please be aware that trainers are only responsible for your child when in the arena during training and in the ring at a competition.  You are responsible for you own children’s behaviour at all other times.

There must be no videoing at training of any child and only of your own child at competitions, unless specifically asked to by another parent. Please make sure you have the permission of the parents before taking photos at competitions.
